On track

By the tower …

My dear wife Karen and I decided a several-hour drive to the east to take in a day of horse racing at Saratoga Race Course would be an excellent adventure, indeed.

After following the pleasant workers to a good five-buck parking spot, I decided it would be a good idea to take a photo of our gray chariot in its surroundings, better to find it at the end of our escapades.

Cars and horses share the space.

When we passed this sign on our walk to the main gate, I wondered if the horse riders had to slow down as much as the car drivers.

Pretty place.

After crossing a major street, we entered Gate 15 …

Perfect view.

It was easy peasy finding our assigned seats in the covered grandstand. On this sunny day, the shade was welcomed. The good view of the track made us happy, too.

Here’s to a day at the races!

Yes, we had a good time cheering on our favorites. My dear wife Karen picked better than I did, for sure.

And we found the car for the ride home with no missteps at all.

  1. that looks fun and I’ve never been to a horse race track. now it’s added to my list. I do same thing now when parking my car in a big lot or space, it really helps, especially with my getting lost issues ))

    • At a good horse track, there’s plenty to observe between the races, Beth! The march of the horses from the barns to the racing surface is really cool when presented with pomp.
Yeah, marking our parking spot is more of a thing for me now for sure!
