A salute to Syracuse history

Indeed.

My dear wife Karen, terrific daughter Elisabeth and fantastic George Three journeyed downtown for a bellyful at Shaughnessy’s before a hockey game with the Syracuse Crunch.

Facing my spot at our table was a cool art piece noting the historic significance of the building we were in at present and the arena we’d be walking to thereafter.

Happy 100 years to the Hotel Syracuse, housing the comforting Irish bar and grille. And cheers to our durable War Memorial arena, which the way-enthusiastic PA guy referenced as “the old barn,” no matter the needed and appreciated renovations that have come over the decades.

More photos over the next several days.
