Home and Garden show stroll

Midway to state fair time.

Terrific daughter Elisabeth texted with an offer of free tickets to the Home and Garden Show at the New York State Fairgrounds. Her boss had a handful to distribute.

Yes, thank you, for my dear wife Karen and I.

Show us your stuff.

So we met Elisabeth and George for a leisurely stroll through a well-planned grid of this-and-that for indoor and outdoor home gussy-ups.

All we did, really, was collect a couple of free tote bags filled with pamphlets to help stoke our dreams of what maybe someday could happen at our place.

Oh, we did stop at the booth representing the fence place where we’re at the precipice of replacing the too-worn wood structure in our backyard. We signed up in August. Several payments have been made. We’re hoping for completion by … a foreman is scheduled to come to our house to meet me this morning, a phone call confirmed two days after last weekend’s show.

The kids investigated a second basement foundation company because the one they’ve been negotiating with has been acting squirrelly.

Oh, I did buy locally produced wine pouches for my dear wife Karen and Elisabeth to sample and donate a sum to the Food Bank of Central New York and receive a Syracuse-themed Monopoly game.

A nice time was had by we homeowners.

  1. Haven’t been to a show like this in a long while, but I enjoyed visiting them when I did. Hope the fence project gets teed up for completion soon, and to your complete satisfaction.🙂
