Thank you for your service.
Toward the end of 2023, our furnace made some threatening noises and then …
Nothing.
On a weekend, of course.
The local heating company sent over their on-call person to poke around our basement. He pointed out our equipment had served 27 years. My dear wife Karen and I had moved here somewhere midway through the previous decade, I explained, but, yeah, we knew. Other technicians from his company had schooled us during previous encounters.
He laid out two paths.
A new part that would extend life for … how long he would not guess.
A new furnace would give us peace of mind for … 27 years?
I wrote out a check for the new part and his time for a weekend visit.
Yes it’s always they way ..pay out 💜💜

I went through that this summer when my ac went out and my furnace had its own issues and decided to just do both and be done with it. horrible to bite that bullet but at least those are two things I’m pretty sure that I’ll never have to worry about again. painful –

Yes, going at both at once sure has its advantages! (Spoiler alert)

I read the earlier post about your furnace. We wait here for the inevitable to happen. Of course your 27 year option …. might have made a good selling point.
