Hoping for good signs

Reaching for the big Mets.

Over the holidays a week ago, the family took to NBT Bank Stadium for a Syracuse Mets game and good times.

Game-ready.

Six of us were ready for a good game, although I couldn’t fit all of us in my iPhone frame when my dear wife Karen, great daughter Elisabeth, George Three, George Two and Sue all got to our seats in the same row behind five rows up on the third-base side.

Crack of the bat.

We appreciated the view of Syracuse Mets pitcher Jose Quintana, on the hill for a rehab start. He’s on his way up to the major-league squad after suffering early season side discomfort that led to the discovery of a growth that needed surgery, rest and this spring-training-like build-up to a hopeful July beginning of his first season for the big Mets after signing as a free agent.

This one didn’t go well, though. He didn’t last through the third inning.

We agreed that we saw a lot of big talent for our Mets and the Yankees’ Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders squad. S/WB won 9-6 in what I’ve always called a slugfest.

Tomorrow I’ll show the post-game fireworks.

  1. I hear the “crack of the bat”…I have my Baby Bird boxseats soon (thanks to my finally rising blood counts and friend who got our seats) Hopefully he’ll last more than 3 and recover soon! Syracuse will get ‘em at the next Slugfest! My favorite pic is of all the smiling faces (I smile like that at the ball field, too) Although I can’t “see” everyone, I still “see” them in my mind! Fireworks next! Thanks for the good show, my friend! Happy Saturday!
