Let there be lobster

Now those are delicious tacos.

Note from my dear wife Karen and I’s walk-for-dinner visit to the Ocean House Beach Bar:

If you know the Cape Cod temperature is, say, 62 degrees when you’re sitting in the pleasant cottage, do not think that your shorts, long-sleeve T-shirt and vest will be enough at the water’s edge.

Cold beverages and drinkers.

My dear wife Karen at least put on a hoodie.

The fish of which she wished.

My lobster tacos and her Cod sandwich made us quite happy.

I do admit to some shivering. And, no, we did not linger much past the cleaning of the dinner plates.

I would be remiss to note that this was by far only the second-best lobster meal of the trip.

The four Cape Cod adventures drove to the Swan River Fish Market and came back to the cottage with three live 1.5 pound lobsters. Earlier we’d purchased a lobster pot so great chef George Three could do his thing in the kitchen. He and Elisabeth had brought the cracking and probing tools from home. (She was glad to eat burgers, not being a shellfish fan.)

The three of us were so busy digging in, dipping in melted butter and squeezing fresh lemon that I neglected to take a photo. Take my word for it, we loved the fresh-caught, boiled-right-there lobster.

  1. 😂 I was hoping for a photo, but I’m so happy George III made another feast for you guys. I think Karen’s cod sammy looks delicious and is more my speed, but I know plenty who would salivate for your lobster tacos. I’m so happy you had such a wonderful time! ❤️

  2. “The fish of which we wished!” The smiles are proof of the tasty experiences! Lobster and cod~I dream of having them fresh in your area! Beautiful! And the gift of the pot will provide more! E is like my twin~she’d much prefer a hamburger. I’ll take the cracking and butter! I love the adventures you are having!
