Don’t eat that, Ellie B

My dear wife Karen told me I had to go take a photo of something out in the corner of our backyard here in the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville. I grabbed my iPad Pro and out the back door through the slight mid-October drizzle I went. Did a neighbor kid send something over the fence?…

Rudy’s rocks, even when it’s closed

The kids know where there’s a great natural supply of rocks for their painting jones. The food stand on the shore of Lake Ontario is closed for the season, so terrific daughter Elisabeth, sensational significant George Three and my dear wife Karen had plenty of space to roam searching for the right rocks for the…

This time the kids go with us to Ontario Orchards

Our annual October trip to Ontario Orchards was even more fun this time around for my dear wife Karen and I. Terrific daughter Elisabeth and sensational significant George Three said they wanted to ride along for the seasonal effect. Walking through the blocks surrounding A Bitty Better in the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville with Ellie B and my dear wife Karen, I spotted a lawn decked out for Halloween with just the right amount of flourish for me. A wispy little ghost with a pumpkin-head caught a breeze from the center tree while seasonal…

Famous boy stumbles upon talented regular girl. Newcomer’s talent (and natural beauty) quickly win over flawed but still charming legend.…

Late bloomers

The Gerbera daisies are still kicking up a storm in mid October in the backyard here in our Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville. I’m so glad my dear wife Karen put them in the earth months ago. She has mentioned how she wondered if this was a batch that would go bloodless all year long. Nope.

Lights and boats

The boats were not quite all gone from the past busy season at Onondaga Lake Yacht Club marina. The lights were not quite all put up for the upcoming Lights on the Lake extravaganza. But this juxtaposition this week made for one heck of an October comparison.

Here’s the orange

My work colleagues and I saw for the first time during our Thursday afternoon break walk from the library, a tree around the path at Onondaga Lake Park that I would qualify as truly orange. Yes, I consider this a late arriving splash.
