After my Maryland Terps beat the Iowa Hawkeyes of my blogging friend Megan in our first year in the Big Ten last college football season, I promised that our friendly wager would be a standing thing.
Silly me.
Her Hawkeyes thumped my squad Saturday to remain unbeaten this past Saturday.
A good time was had by them down in her Nashville mini-manse.
I paid off by sending her a couple photos of myself lamenting the loss in my Terps clothes.
Yes, she posted them on her sparkly Cowboys and Crossbones blog here.
You sure do know how to have fun, my friend.
My 2-6 Terrapins with mid-season interim coach appointee Mike Locksley, on the other hand, not quite so much.

I will keep all comments to myself. But as you know I am a BIG TEN FAN! But OHIO Buckeyes are my team.

The Buckeyes won again yesterday, Nancy. I know. I know. All they need to do is win and another championship will be in Ohio for you, my friend.

Yes… would love that! But what you and I really want is for the Big Ten to keep on being strong! Thanks for being a sport!

I do want that, Nancy. Our friend Scott from Sleeping on the Sofa got jobbed when Michigan State got knocked out of the unbeatens by Nebraska with a bad judgment call on an out-of-bounds receiver coming back in to catch a winning TD pass in the final minute this week. I don’t think that was good for our Big Ten.

Iowa got very good all of sudden. How could you have seen that coming?

I was blind-sided this season, for sure, Scott, by their good and my team’s awful.
