To complete the thought on Oh, balls …
I like bowling on Sunday mornings in my Thursday night league. See my previous post if that statement leaves you scratching your head.
Cici’s Pizza took two of three games and total wood from the second-place team.
I was happy with my first and third games, most certainly. I choked in the 10th frame of the middle and opened, pulling my first shot and leaving seven and pushing my spare shot and leaving the one. I’ll admit it.
I’m hoping all those numbers will be better for all five of us by end of the first half of the season, and the team will rise.
Oh, yeah, Tiny missed Sunday play again to be at his hunting camp with his pals.

Love your friends’ names. Bring me back ❤

YAY! Those are all awesome scores you have there! And since Tiny keeps missing, you guys need to vote to change his nickname in absentia. That’ll teach him. 😉

The only two he’s missed are the two I’ve written about, Rachel. Odd, huh?

That’s funny…. Now we need to figure out why his absence inspires you to write. Maybe without him there, the team moves slower and you have more time on the bench between turns to think about things. That’s it! He’s the pace keeper! 🙂

It’s Sunday morning vs. Thursday night. Get home at 1 p.m., write about bowling, you bet. Get home 11 p.m. Thursday night, not so much. 😦

Ah, I get it now. But still, wouldn’t it boost his ego if you let him think he really was the pace keeper? He could even wear tights and a cape with PK on it and he would be the superhero of your bowling league!

Now you are going wacko on me, Rachel. In a good way. I think. 🙂 I hope. 😦

Many years ago we lived in a tiny town in eastern Colorado. I was on a woman’s league and we had to drive 60 miles one way to Kansas once a week to bowl. I don’t even remember anymore how to keep score, much less hit the pins with the ball.:)

PJ, you don’t have to keep score anymore. A computer does it and flashes all the scores on a screen overhead. I bet you’d remember how to hit the pins with the ball, my friend. 🙂

I remember how to roll the ball but that’s about it. LOL

We hope to get to .500 in wins-losses by the end of the first half of the season, Liz. That would be HUGE for Team Cici!

Bowling sounds fun. Cute team name Cici’s Pizza. How did the name come about?
LikeLike
Cici’s Pizza is the name of a national pizza chain that paid our team entrance fee and gave us team shirts three seasons ago, Deborah. But between last season and this, the local restaurant in the chain closed down. We kept the name for this season, though.

Speaking of, do you think my Terps can take the Spartans in the week before OUR big tussle, Beth? 🙂 They are reeling from the pouding from the Buckeyes. Yay to Jim McKeever and all of our Ohio friends on that one by the way.

Seems that you guys are improving a lot Mark. Your team has the highest handicap and yet is in 8th place before today. Also you bowled more than 10 points above your average in today’s average game score. Well done mark.

Thank you, Paul. The handicap league makes the best teams grumble sometimes, but we’d have no chance otherwise. 🙂 I did have a good day today. Last week I rolled a 555 series, my best so far this season. Now my goal is to top that. 🙂

I think this score is amazing, but I am always happy when I get a few strikes! smiles! We have a Cici’s Pizza in Marion, Ohio and I enjoy their big buffet of choices of pizzas, salads and desserts, Mark! Go Mark’s team, go!

Our CiCi’s Pizza here folded, Robin! But we are keeping the name through the season anyway. Enjoy the buffet. The owner of the place would give us a team pizza to share at the start of bowling every Thursday night, alternating the type. Pepperoni one week, sausage, Hawaiian. I loved the Hawaiian. We miss that this year.
