Even the pigeons await the arrival of the reindeer in the sky.
Everybody is on high alert today for that magical sight and sound of Santa and his sleigh. On “Today” right now, the announcer is tracking the process thanks to web site Noradsanta.org. “Just a few moments ago, Sapporo, Japan,” Mario reported excitedly.
Here in Syracuse, N.Y., Ellie B, aka Dogamous Pyle, and I discovered that this includes our city pigeons.
Don’t they have a lovely perch on which to search for the reindeer crew? They appear to be quite comfortable with their high-wire act. They sat there patiently while I stood underneath, pooch straining on leash, snapping away on my iPhone.
This also gave me the chance to name these urban birds.

Great times ahead, Colleen! Enjoy. I’m waiting for my wife to get home from her half-day of work, and the grown daughter and her boyfriend are coming for Eve dinner and present-giving. We get to do it all over again on The Day with the grown son. (Funky work schedules, but we care, not.) Fantastic!
