One benefit for this retired guy is flipping on the weekday early spring training game televised by SNY for my New York Mets.
I watched on Thursday afternoon. I hardly cared that they lost to bitter NL East rival, the Atlanta Braves.
The games don’t count yet. Everybody’s getting their eyes and arms ready for the real thing.

Holder of a new five-year contract.
Cherished rescue mutt Ellie and I are getting are watching eyes in shape. The Mets are on the flat screen this afternoon, too, against the Washington Nationals. The remote’s ready. No matter that the weather forecast in Central New York calls for a March snowstorm.
Oh the retirement life is suiting you just fine!

Watching the Red Birds all ready, Mark! I’m happy to be here for a new season! I’m ready to get in the batter’s box, Mark. No more sitting on the sidelines. I say all of this and I may be sitting on the bench for most of the season. But for the next two weeks I’m in the game strong, my friend! Play Ball!
