A bit too early for boats

The Onondaga Lake Park marina looks beautiful this time of spring. It also looks ready for the fleet of boats that will come in, vessel by vessel. My safe walks await their arrival.

Standing guard

My eyes spy one lonely rowboat on dry land adjacent to the empty Onondaga Lake Marina. A prop, I wonder, as I complete my safe walk during a work break, or there in case somebody needs it for an emergency. Hope not for the second, ever.

No boats

As I walk along the Onondaga Lake Park trail and pass the lonely marina, I wonder where the boats that make this spot bustle during the summer spend these months? They all have a tale to tell under different covers, says my imagination.

Onondaga Lake Marina boats seem just fine

As we head into August, it’s satisfying to note that this boat season at the Onondaga Lake Marina remains afloat. After such a slow start because of the virus crisis, the owners who have brought their boats seem committed. The weather has brought plenty of boat days, that’s for sure. Hot, hot, hot.

Holdouts on the water

When it was warm enough to take my work break walks past the Onondaga Lake Marina, It was still warm enough to take a small boat out on the water. I counted three small vessels holding out. The Fihal Three!

Go sail away

Out beyond the marina lies a sailboat, enjoying the season. I do catch much on my walks, appreciating what others are enjoying so close to my workplace at the library.
