Oh, how this season can offer a dizzying array of color. Even in our backyard, where this yellow rose holds forth against the changing rustic of the fence foliage.
So what does one do when the backyard roses don’t want to give up in this confused year of 2020? My dear wife Karen brings the pink inside for a final kitchen table showing. Thank you, lovelies.
The purple climber in the backyard is still blooming, still reaching for greater things. I am surprised and gladdened by its spirit.

The continued progress with the installation of Lights on the Lake as I walk the several blocks from my job at the library prove to me that yes, life does go on during this so-difficult 2020. Onondaga Lake will be home to the Christmas Lights pretty soon.
There is a worker keeping safe distance on that orange lift at Onondaga Lake Park. Once it goes up, it will be a lot more than six feet away from any walkers or bike riders.
Yes, I’d hang a banner and welcome people to this fall scene, too. As long as they came with the proper amounts of caution, of course, as this corner is just a few strides from my library workplace.
