Looking out our front door. I like to peer out to the left when December has done a good job of clearing the leaves from the surrounding trees. Pretty, yes.

Christmas kitty

Izzy under the tree. Terrific daughter Elisabeth texted a photo of kitty Izzy under her and George Three’s tree. We’re all glad Izzy and Vinny allowed their pretty tree to stand. Happy holiday to all.

Front and center

High dogwood leaves. I’m surprised to spot some stubborn December dogwood leaves that outlasted this month of snow in our part of the world.

Fence check

Good line. The wooden-fence line is holding up to its second season of snow on this side of our backyard. Nice to see the straight line holding up.

No brush needed?

Not this day. Here’s where I look when I let the cherished rescue mutt back into the house to note if I need to clear the car from snow before our first out-of-house adventure of the day.

Winter feel

Walk is clear. I have done my job clearing our front walk this month, proof right here. The furnace exhaust pipes get my shovel’s attention, too.

Lake view at sunrise

Cold down there, too. The still feeling on our block as the December sun rose to my left extended all the way down to our slice of lake view. Snowy month indeed.

Plow pile
