Sure, bring the kids to “Mr. Peabody & Sherman.”
They’ll get into the funny dog and silly boy. The Dreamworks animation will satisfy the most savvy modern youngster.
Pay attention, mom, dad and grandparents.
There’s plenty of humor and plot aimed to your level, too.
I was wondering if they could match the wit and wisdom of the old “Rocky and Friends” cartoon days.
Different, but definitely big time.

Do you usually like it when the movie world brings your favorite old cartoons to a new life? What are your favorite new takes on old ‘toons?
i am so excited to see this. i always worry when an old cartoon moves to the big screen and is redone, but this sounds like a winner )

When I sit in the regular version and watch the approaching effects I always say to myself ‘I bet this is great in 3D,’ Victoria. But still I wait.

I went to see this and had very mixed feelings. I agree the animation and overall story were very good but they made Penny just too nasty in the opening.

I’m glad you gave it a good review. Peabody and Sherman was my favorite after the Flintstones. I have mixed feelings about remakes. Some are done well and some just don’t measure like Under Dog.

The Flintstones is my favorite, too, Kim. The animating people did a good job of making Peabody and Sherman endearing in this one.

Reblogged this one Mark. I always watched the Saturday morning ‘toons with my kids and then my grands. I’m not sure I would go to see another one now, but would probably rent one. Now even the grands are out-growing them in favor of the super heroes and the loud noises, so I just keep my eardrums intact, and listen to the radio. I do love Rocky and Bullwinkle though.

Thank you for the reblog, Angie. Try to get youir grands to watch it with you on TV/DVD when it comes around. It’s good for big kids and adults, too.
