This year’s rose pose. In the past several winters, I’ve snuck in a photo or two of a roque rose bloom from our yard. This winter shows a quite different stature. Get your sleep. Steady snow cover and cold through January and February has left our roses in a deep slumber.

Quick reaction. The shorty backyard rose bush wants it to be its season already. I personally think March still holds some cold stuff in its arsenal.

Maybe perhaps … From this angle in the golden hour, the yellow backyard roses still show a little life. Yeah, but …

The backyard roses are suddenly looking much more seasonal. Up and down this winter has been for so many reasons.
