Welcome to the club

Inside shopping. The Syracuse Mets took their annual garage sale indoors this year. Instead of placing the tables full of gear-and-such on the concourse, they set the sale up inside the Metropolitan Club. That set up a mad dash of fans to look and buy. Holy shirt! The real jerseys pulled in lots of people.…

Off season sale for the Syracuse Mets

Lining up in November. Syracuse Mets fans lined up way before the announced 9 a.m. opening for Saturday’s annual Syracuse Mets garage sale. It was moving day for daughter Elisabeth and fiance George. My dear wife Karen was getting ready to take the drive out to their apartment in Oneida. I was sworn in to…

Happy Thanksgiving from the foundation of our family

Have a great Thanksgiving, says us. A recent trip to the Syracuse Mets ball yard led me to take this photo of the brick laid down to show the solidarity held forever by my dear wife Karen, terrific daughter Elisabeth, fiancé George Three and I. Perfect for spirit of Thanksgiving, thought I. May you have…

The sun sets on baseball season

George Three had ticket vouchers remaining in his booklet, so we squeezed a last game in at NBT Bank Stadium. This provided a wonderful view of the sunset as well as a great perspective of the game. And the Mets won, 8-5.

Big night at the game for the kid

Some nights at the ballpark are so, so wonderful. Sitting with George Three’s nephew Mason game me so many smiles at the Syracuse Mets game. When they threw the T-shirts out between innings, one winged its way to the nice gentleman wearing a black T in the row ahead of us. He immediately turned and…

Happy for another Syracuse Mets game

The giveaway this week at the Syracuse Mets game was a cool green jersey. Yes, said Elisabeth, George Three, Mason, myself and my dear wife Karen. Susan, too, but she was down at the concession stands when I was snapping these photos. I like the stickers chosen for cheeks by Karen and Elisabeth. More on…

What to wear to the game?

I heard my dear wife Karen and terrific daughter Elisabeth talking among themselves as fiance George Three and I walked just ahead on the journey from the parking lot to our seats at our latest we-love-to-go to the Syracuse Mets games together outings. The attractiveness of a new woman’s hat in the window to the…

Nice view too from there and there

Wanderers that we are, my dear wife Karen, daughter Elisabeth and fiance George Three couldn’t stay on the Salt City Deck forever as we took in Saturday’s Syracuse Mets game. We strolled out of the sun seeking seats in the shade. Karen directed us into obviously empty seats at a tabletop, much in the location…

Our hands (and feet) on deck

The Central New York chapter of CSEA set up a nice union get-together at the Syracuse Mets game for Saturday. Yes, I passed the Civil Service Test and scored high enough on the list to secure my position at the library, part of the Onondaga County system. So I said yes for tickets that included…

Jake de Grom looks pretty fine in Syracuse

The moment word got out that New York Mets star pitcher Jake de Grom was likely to take a rehab start in our very own Syracuse Mets’ NBT Bank Stadium, my dear wife Karen said, yes, thank you, she would like to see that moment with her own eyes. So I drove over on my…
