Look, it’s signed

Winner! When the family got to the top of the concourse on our latest trip to see our Syracuse Mets at NBT Bank Stadium, a worker handed my dear wife Karen and I both a copy of the night’s program. I gave mine to Karen as we wound our way to our seats. And she…

Ready for chilly ballgame

Warm at this point. The second homestand of our Syracuse Mets’ season still featured some chilly weather. My dear wife Karen and I knew to dress in layers. Yes, I added a hoodie a few innings later.

Cat in the park

Sweet Eva there in spirit. When our Syracuse Mets announced the inaugural cats at the stadium game, terrific daughter Elisabeth and George Three got harnesses and leashes for kitties Vinnie and Izzy. Backpacks. A stroller. The inside kitties began seeing their neighborhood in a very supervised manner. But before game day, it was decided they…

A wide view

Hardy fans. April baseball means bundling up when your hometown squad is the Syracuse Mets. The fans did good. We’ll return soon.

Get ready

Taking a stance. Concentration means so much when you’re trying to hit a baseball. It was interesting to watch my Syracuse Mets hitters get ready in the what we call the warmup circle.

Let the season begin

And Trapper hats, too. What the heck, thought I, when I saw the temperature forecast for our Syracuse Mets home opener. Yes, we’d secured our four seats up close to the field the first day they went on sale. Then … The team put up a special in the Metropolitan Room that included a buffet…

Winter to spring …

Our stadium. Hope springs eternal when I get to NBT Bank Stadium and my thoughts drift to Syracuse Mets baseball a couple of miles down the road from our house. Even in winter, I can feel it getting closer.

Looking forward to a good season

A lot to look forward to in 2025. Syracuse Mets general manager Jason Smorol is the perfect choice to get fans ready for a new season. He can stoke optimism for the players the parent New York Mets will fill Triple A roster with from April through September. This past weekend, he mentioned a prospect…
