Hanging out

Branches waiting for buds. April looks like winter, I thought as the way west park path twisted for me this early morning.

Maybe next time

Water worthy. I know that they use these buildings and water craft. Sometime this spring I will return to find something floating on our lake, I think.

To the boats

Quiet time. I was hoping to spot Syracuse University crew team members out on the lake, or at least preparing their shells for the season out on the water. I saw a lot of cars parked outside the building that houses the folks that participate in the sport (I figure) but not a soul outside.

Sun search

Back up. There’s a sunrise back there amid the clouds. I promise. The blockage might be contributing to my big chill, I figured, as I quickly strolled the way west end of the lake park.

Time to reflect

I look at clouds that way. When I see clouds that catch my eye up high, it makes me happy. When the water is so still it reflects that same pattern down below, it makes me very happy. I might even forget that I didn’t wear enough warm clothes on this chilly morning visit to…

April lake stroll

Water way. With the April weather rollercoasting up and down, I took the chance after dropping my dear wife Karen off for her early morning shift start to visit the way west end of our park next to the lake. The temperature was slightly above freezing. I found sights to share for a nice stretch…

One more lingering look

Thank you for this beauty. No matter the weather, I think before I veer sharply to the left toward my car, I surely am glad that a few-minute drive no matter the season gets me to Onondaga Lake Park and its walking trails.

Toward the usual walk

Way down there. Can I make it down there, to the yellow building and the marina, I thought as the maintenance truck passed me on the path and fingers got colder and colder on this brash winter morning. Nope. Turned around and headed back toward the parking lot.

To the rear

Looking out their back door. I recall peering out the business side of the Salt Museum toward Onondaga Lake when I visited with a patron group during my work days for the nearby library. I liked it. This view too makes me want to return with no work chores to merely listen and learn.

Somebody went to the edge

Step right up. I appreciated seeing the smokestacks churning on the other shore as my fingers grew colder during my Onondaga Lake Park stroll. Somebody needed to take a closer look at what’s going on up close to the frozen water. Not me, not on this day.
