That August park feel
Busy marina season. Ah, August, and the boats fill the slips at the Onondaga Lake Marina. Some are out for a ride, I see, looking past the guarding tree.

Light me up. The sun over the light post and the reflections through and past the marina made me feel happy.
Winter walkways … I suddenly had the feeling that some workers pulled these walkways to a safer winter location as I investigated during my winter stroll. Unless that one spot is really important come warmer times. I wasn’t stepping out to look more.
Take a spin. This frozen spot where in warmer months boat owners back their vessels into the Onondaga Lake Marina ushers other thoughts into my winter brain. When frozen, it looks like one heck of a spot for some skating spins.
Picturing other seasons … Winter is pretty, yes. But I surely do enjoy wearing shorts, a T-shirt and comfortable footwear as I take note of the interesting boat names in the Onondaga Lake Marina during the warm months.
Churning water runs deep. I’d expect that the Onondaga Lake Marina boat slips would have to be dug deep enough to allow clearance for the bigger boats that take up the shore slips come the warm months. And this would affect the freezing when deep winter finally arrives. Not that I’m an expert on any…
No boats ‘a bobbin. An early stroll past the Onondaga Lake Marina discovers all boats gone from the slips. OK, now thoughts can turn toward spring?
Life goes on. Retired-guy-I still appreciates standing here to look to the other shore and imagine what the other folks are up to amid the billowing smokestacks dotting the there end of Onondaga Lake.
No give-up. Yes, retired-guy-I smiled to see a holdout boat docked in the Onondaga Lake Marina at the tail end of November. They can still fish, I imagined.
Color coordinated. Cheers to the folks at the Onondaga Yacht Club for the green-and-red choice for their lawn anchors at this time of year, retired-guy I notes on a photo-taking stroll.
