Walking the … goat
Surprise visitor. Yes, we do like to compare our friends the goats to dogs. Spotting this goat tender leading her four-legged friend around the fair garden made my dear wife Karen and I smile a lot.

Hello, old friends. My dear wife Karen always smile as we stroll through the New York State Fair’s goat barn. Cozy. They are always so darn friendly to us. Sorry, no room in our yard. Karen couldn’t resist petting one cutie who came right up to the rail.
Climb up. Every year, my dear wife Karen and I think that the New York State Fair folks are expanding their garden area. Looks delicious. They’re doing a great job combining vegetables and flowers. On the rise. The sunflowers remain a favorite of ours.
Cool hallway. I tipped my cap to the folks who decided to call this hallway at the New York State Fair’s Expo Center the Vestibule. Words I don’t see much anymore make me smile.
Large bird. While strolling through the Expo Center at the New York State Fair’s Agriculture with my dear wife Karen, I was glad to see the Dinosaur exhibit from last year had moved on. Cute. This year we got a mix of animals that lived here with us. A relative? And we had us, too.
Cheers to a great courtyard. I had to investigate what the New York State Fair folks did with the Bob Case Garden, tucked into the outdoor square smack dab in the middle of the Agriculture Building. Room to grow. Some of the trees and plants seem to have been at home for a good, long…
Huge home. While strolling through the New York State Fair’s Agriculture Building with my dear wife Karen, I spotted a bird’s nest. Couldn’t miss it, really. This baby was big. For scale, that’s a shed that would fit my lawnmower and way more in the background.
I had to take a bite before the photo … For our New York State Fair proper meal, my dear wife Karen and I decided upon the tried-and-true sausage sandwich, piled with peppers and onions. I knew from my many years of covering concerts at the fairgrounds that the Basilio’s stand would do it right.…
Yes! A cold draft beer was happily on the itinerary for my dear wife Karen and I as we strolled the New York State Fairgrounds during our annual visit. She ordered the lighter-shaded beverage, I the darker. We both happily sipped as we walked. I appreciated her artwork on the smartly placed white paper on…
Great digging. My dear wife Karen and I decided our first stop at this year’s visit to the New York State Fair would be the Center of Progress. The sand sculpture in the center of the big building usually makes us happy amid our stroll along the booths of merchandise and displays. Fine tuning. A…
