Thank you, Cleveland

Happiness is … Baseball and rock ‘n’ roll. I had a great family getaway with my dear wife Karen, terrific daughter Elisabeth and George Three to Cleveland. Thanks for taking a look at my photos these past days.

The Wall as art

Words and characters of note. One stairway landing at the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame is given to an intriguing installation commemorating Pink Floyd’s landmark album <em>The Wall>/em> True that. How am I going to capture the feel of this by photo, I wondered, dodging this way and that. Looking up. Each segment said so much.…

Quite a landmark

You are there. You can’t miss the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame off the shore of Lake Erie in Cleveland. The archicture is stricking. Indeed. I loved the sign coming and going.

No game this day

Make no mistake, the Cleveland Browns play there. Before we reached the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, our stroll from the hotel allowed a nice view of Cleveland’s football stadium. It was a Sunday, but the Browns were away at Baltimore, so Karen, Elisabeth, George and I didn’t not have a home game crowd…

A window lake view

Smack in the middle. My dear wife Karen and I didn’t spend a lot of time in our downtown Cleveland hotel sandwiched between the baseball game at night and the stroll to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the next morning. But we did notice that our room on floor 14 did have a…

Just the right vibe

Beautiful spot. As the innings wore on and night fell, I thought Progressive Field in Cleveland looked better and better as my dear wife Karen, terrific daughter Elisabeth, George Three and I enjoyed the Guardians-White Sox game. Yes, the home team won, 3-1.

Great seats!

Southpaw. George and Elisabeth certainly scored big when they ordered our tickets to see the Cleveland Guardians host the Chicago White Sox at Progressive Field. Our first-base, lower-level seats made me feel I could see it all up close and personal.

Yes on the hoodie!

I’ll wear it well. Indeed we arrived at Progressive Field early enough to receive the free hoodies going to the first 15,000 fans through the gates. You know I had to pull mine on right away. That is a Cleveland Guardians hat I bought at the team store as soon as we entered the stadium,…

Hail to the heroes

Cheers to Larry Doby. As Karen, Elisabeth, George and I got closer to entering Progressive Field in Cleveland, we passed a pair of statues honoring two of the franchise’s greatest players. Quite a Feller. Larry Doby and Bob Feller were among the best major-league players in the middle of the past century. Doby was the…

We’ll join the stadium line

Up there … We knew we couldn’t savor our time at The Clevelander too much. The Cleveland Guardians game against the Chicago White Sox was a giveaway, and we all wanted to score one of cool red hoodies going to the first 15,000 folks in the gates. Arriving to Progressive Field more than 45 minutes…
