From start to finish

Fall ball. We helped the Syracuse Mets open their 2023 season, and so we decided to help them close it, too. Baseball-loving family. Much like that first game in April, we dressed for the late September tussle in layers. Well, I mused, the many games I caught in between this season allowed me to appreciate…

Tomatoes for us, too

Finding their level. The tomato plants given to us by terrific daughter Elisabeth and fantastic fiance George Three did, indeed, bear fruit. The bounty was noticed weeks later than what they reaped just a mile away at their house, proving once again, different soil, varying sun angles, timing will differ.

Hello, Donnie!

Man of honor, front right. When a great friend moves away, the very best thing is they want to come back to visit. Donnie counts the gang from the big daily as his crew. When he bounced back from Nashville recently, Nolan set up a welcoming bash and Chelsea’s. Yes, this big group of us…

Happy hostas

Not just big, green and bushy. Our quite large hostas plants out back took on their late summer flowers. A full garden for sure. And they were big and beautiful, too.

Big interior ideas

Cozy in the primary. These builders know they must go all out on the interiors and enlist smart designers, too, to make their Parade of Homes houses memorable. So I took out my iPhone to capture some of their good ideas. This main bedroom window seat made me smile. In a great light. The wall…

We’d given the stroll-and-admire opportunity a break since the first big virus year, but with she taking a half day from work, we figured a weekday afternoon was a…

Art appreciated

For book lovers. When I walk around Clinton Square these days, I notice new takes on portable art. Keys to my heart. Reading and music. Somebody knows what draws my attention.

Still bright

Smiling, still. The mid-summer run to Ballantyne Gardens that brought home these colorful daisies surely was a good buy for my dear wife Karen and I. Long-lasting, yes.

Sign of the seasons

Another season done. The calendar is soon to be officially flipped to fall. And so the pool company has sent its workers to our backyard to put the cover back on for the leafy and snowy months. Thank you for keeping my dear wife Karen happy since June, backyard pool!

Give me a W

Changing the font. Caught on a supermarket run this week: A hard-working crew changing the big letters on the storefront. News sites say the older stores, like the one closest to our house, had yet to catch up to the new style corporate logo. Fancier. The next day’s visit saw the new logo smack dab…
