Garden cardinal

Flocking with the pumpkins. It’s fun to note what’s new in the seasonal decorations on my dear wife Karen and I’s seasonal trek to Ontario Orchards. Collected out front this time was a bunch of carefully crafted birds perched on stumps of various heights. Bright red, we did believe they are cardinals. Nice work!

You want a pumpkin …

Whatever you prefer. Whether you’d like to bring home a pumpkin big and orange or small and of another hue, the folks at Ontario Orchards have a crate full for you to go through.

What we’re used to seeing

Comfort store. My dear wife Karen and I didn’t expect to find a booming nursery when we pulled up for our annual seasonal excursion a handful of dozen miles to the north to the Ontario Orchards Farm Market. The store, thankfully, still stood sturdy and proud for all it offered, outside and in.

Tight fit

Grew a lot. This mature plant would look great in the backyard or front, my dear wife Karen and I agreed as we strolled and dreamed at the Ontario Orchards nursery. But, deep down we knew, no way we had a vehicle that could fit it for the ride home.

Well groomed

Natural or clipped? Did these grow like this on their own, I wondered as my dear wife Karen and I admired the collection at the Ontario Orchard nursery, or did the curator coax them into the three-balled shape?

The color purple

See the bee? The purple bloom surely caught my eye as my dear wife Karen and I appreciated the cool collections at the Ontario Orchard nursery. Then I noticed who else appreciated this particular largest flower. The big bee left me alone, yes, and I went about my business, too.

Standing out

Good company. The lone white bloom surely stands out to my eye as my dear wife Karen and I stroll the rows at the nursery to one side of the Ontario Orchards parking lot.

Tag!

You’re it, da. I’ve long thought myself bowed out of these blogging games. I’ve put enough years in clicking and clacking away to avoid the tangled webs, indeed. But yet, it was (beth kennedy – ididnthavemyglasseson.com) who laid the tag on me from her blog a few days ago. She was one of the first…

So many plants

The long look. I’m still devoted to Ballantyne’s Gardens, I repeated to myself as my dear wife Karen and I looked out over the many plants we encountered at our first discovery of the nursery at Ontario Orchards.
