One last hurdle

Around for sure. To get back to my car from the park, I must go up this street. I choose not to climb the mound of plowed snow, though I suppose any group of kids might choose to go over instead of taking the side routes.

Sticklers

They won’t leave. My eyes are drawn to the stubborn extremities of this proud tree in the center of the benches and picnic table. The leaves refuse to drop. Nature sure is something.

Happy holiday to all

Wishes for all. May you and yours have a great day whichever holiday you celebrate. My dear wife Karen and I will gather with family just a mile down the road at terrific daughter Elisabeth and George’s house. Great thoughts go out to all in your part of our world.

Maybe next time

There for the takers. Don’t let the sunlight fool you. It was plenty cool for the snow to remain on these Onondaga Lake Park benches. No swipes of a glove or a mitten to take a breather …

Lonely marina

Awaiting Memorial Day. The still of the Onondaga Lake Marina is a good spot to stop and think during a December stroll. I think I don’t want to walk as far this month as I do in others.

Lighten up

I see you, clown. No tears or fears when I conjured up a clown face inside the array of this light display along the trail path at Onondaga Lake Park. What do you get from this Lights on the Lake cluster?

Quality park time

Great sky. What would my big local park offer me in this part of December, wondered after parking in the Village of Liverpool and strolling down toward Onondaga Lake. Yes, a lonely bare tree against the striking water, clouds and sky was a great greeting.

Art where you find it

Whatever you think. Outside the tall downtown Syracuse office building sits this new to me on my annual stroll striking piece of art. It’s red. It looks to be metal. Or plastic. Possibly bendy. Being December and all, I thought of a homemade bow being tied on top of a present. What say you?

Rink, quiet

Waiting for the hustle, bustle. My walk through Clinton Square brought hope to see a skater or two on the downtown Syracuse rink. Too wet, I thought, so I continued my annual stroll to see what might be new.
