Still stately in the middle
Proudly. Our front-yard dogwood is taking the February cold and snow with grace. I’m glad to take note of its winter ruggedness every time I open our front door.

Hang in there, little beauty. February has been a rugged month for our front-yard corner rose bush. There hasn’t been a lot of places to deposit the daily snow deposit to our walkway to the front door and driveway. The tippy-top of the rose bush is still sticking out. I promise that’s it.
Good things, too. We haven’t had too many days to cherish a blue sky this month in our part of this planet. Snow, cold. Cold, snow. When I noticed the chance to match the high snow against our lake view with a clear sky this past weekend, I pulled out the good camera on my…
Thank you for this beauty. No matter the weather, I think before I veer sharply to the left toward my car, I surely am glad that a few-minute drive no matter the season gets me to Onondaga Lake Park and its walking trails.
Way down there. Can I make it down there, to the yellow building and the marina, I thought as the maintenance truck passed me on the path and fingers got colder and colder on this brash winter morning. Nope. Turned around and headed back toward the parking lot.
Looking out their back door. I recall peering out the business side of the Salt Museum toward Onondaga Lake when I visited with a patron group during my work days for the nearby library. I liked it. This view too makes me want to return with no work chores to merely listen and learn.
Step right up. I appreciated seeing the smokestacks churning on the other shore as my fingers grew colder during my Onondaga Lake Park stroll. Somebody needed to take a closer look at what’s going on up close to the frozen water. Not me, not on this day.
Celebrating the wayback. Back in my days working at the Liverpool Public Library, I joined several groups of our excited patrons visiting the Salt Museum for an outing. I learned a lot about our area’s history while taking photos and videos. When I stroll through the park, I think I should go back as a…
Solitude. The scene was pretty during a morning late February stroll at nearby Onondaga Lake Park. Lonely, too.
Cold rising. I had to take my gloves off to snap pictures during my morning stroll at nearby Onondaga Lake Park. It was a cold session, indeed.
