Widespread message. Good sign for the block, thought I as I passed the sidewalk message from this bookstore during a recent downtown Syracuse stroll.
Pretty placement. There have been a lot of different restaurants at this busy corner in downtown Syracuse, I thought during my recent stroll. Never have I ever experienced Peruvian fusion cuisine, thought I as I took in this new possibility.
Ads everywhere. This downtown Syracuse business goes to great heights to get the word out.
Perspective. Plants need the sun, right, I thought as I passed this one perfectly placed during my downtown Syracuse stroll.
Always pay attention. If there was one thing I learned during the 30 years I worked in the heart of downtown Syracuse, it was to pay attention to the traffic signals. The intersections are always busy.
Pre-game signings. Our local Triple-A baseball team does a good job with promotions to help stir interest. Thursday night, the family was eager to get to the Syracuse Mets game early enough so that my dear wife Karen, terrific daughter Elisabeth, George Three and I could add our names to the really big baseball. Bright appearance. Our front corner knockout roses sometimes come in thick as thieves during a blooming cycle. Other times, they’re a slow burn. I liked the way the small cluster of red stood out among the green and purple leaves.
Not flowers. While meandering our backyard with our cherished rescue mutt, a flash along the rear fence caught my eye. At first I thought it was a new bloom. Nope. The thick plant cover has a shiny leaf.
Gravity, proven. These pretty specimens grew to heavy for their stems, I saw while mowing our backyard. They look beautiful nevertheless, even while kissing the dirt and bricks.
