Satisfying shed work

Back on Labor Day weekend, my dear wife Karen and I took on a team project to pretty up the shed work so satisfyingly started by terrific daughter Elisabeth, fiance George Three and members of his tree while we were in Cape Cod at the start of this season. We first took the wood they…

Bonus photo from KP

Before we leave photos taken at the New York State Fair, I offer this glorious capture from my friend KP as he visited the big sprawl with our pal Bake. When he put the photo up on a text string with Tater and I, I immediately asked KP if I could use his scene of…

Delicious donut, yes

My dear wife Karen and I criss-crossed the lines of the New York State Fair midway until we found the Peacheys stand. On their earlier trip, terrific daughter Elisabeth had mid-fair texted that their glazed donut was the best thing she’d eaten from any of the food groups. High praise, you think? We went to…

I’ll stay down here, thank you

My dear wife Karen and I spied people hanging out up high and waiting for stuff down below as we walked amid the Midway crowds at the New York State Fair. The aerialists seemed happy. I knew I was quite content with my feet planted solidly on the pavement. Besides, we were on a quest…

Do you mean it?

I’m all for good sign-making and promotion. I do not think I would have signed off on the food promotion I spotted while on the stroll with my dear wife Karen at the New York State Fair midway, though. There must be some sort of food craze of which I’m not aware. I’ll take the…

Shine on

Exiting our visit to mingle with the goats, we noticed the moon rising over the Expo Center. I was glad our one New York State Fair visit in 2022 extended into the Golden Hour. The big building in the middle of the fairgrounds presents nicely from various angles. Hanging out. We spied the midway yonder.…

Before all these GOATS there were the goats

First stop after our New York State Fair dinner was the building that is home to the goats. We love them, every visit. If you’ve never had an up-close with these farm faves, they can be as friendly as the family dog. At least the ones we encounter at the fair sure seem to like…

Happy to take a swing

My second round of 2022 came on the last day of August. Not the most prolific golfing season for me. I fit a lot of satisfaction into this day at Radisson with KP and Tater.

KP looks good up from Atlanta

KP has not sat idle since moving from Central New York to Atlanta. Golf has been in his schedule. I notice an improvement in his game, yes I do. My friend through five decades can hit the ball and manage his shots. Not so much Even Steven now. Still A-OK.
