Don’t close it!

Let the sunshine in. Our cherished rescue mutt got in through the side door and discovered I’d somehow left the back door open when she and I went out for her first morning backyard stroll. The sun was coming in. Unfortunately, it’s cold enough outside that mean old daddy is going to close the door…

Cool roses

Hang in there! A lingering red bloom petal or two still clung to the front-yard roses when the first measureable snow of the season decided to pile up around it.

No more grilling until …

Successful coverup. We did have enough notice from the weather folks about the first measureable snowfall for me to grab our grill cover from the shed and get the valuable piece of cooking equipment safely protected for fall, winter and early spring.

Green and white

Blend of seasons. Not only have these front-yard bush’s leaves not fallen before the initial measureable snow, this mid-November they’ve yet to go from green to yellow to gone.

Cool dog

OK, dad, I’l go down there. Our cherished rescue mutt takes a bit more time than usual to descend from the back deck to her yard to greet the morning snow. She’ll get there.

Hello, snow

Yes, indeed. The leaves hadn’t all fallen from our front-yard dogwood when measureable snow visited our part of the world the last two nights. It was time for me to grab my phone and take enough photos to share for a few days.

Side hustle

The big walk. Our cherished rescue mutt is quite happy that the snow hasn’t covered her usual path in our backyard. Yet. She does a good job sticking to the cement pool edge … which means she’s done with her rounds and is making a beeline to the side door.
