Chiming in

Hanging out. Our cherished wind chime is back up lending its sweet music outside our kitchen window and side door. Plenty of breezes in our appropriately named Galeville neighborhood to keep it singing.

Hose ready

Spritzer. I know some people wind and hang their garden hoses every time they use them. It’s far more convenient to let it lie waiting for its next bit of nurturing.

Big cover up front

Kitchen, covered. The tall white-flowered plant up front took its turn in our blooming parade of May. We like the natural shade it gives our kitchen this time of year.

Tattoo you?

No thank you. What’s a good Food Truck Battle without a mobile tattoo stop, you ask? I think this is the first year I’ve noticed the opportunity for ink at our traditional get-together at the New York State Fairgrounds, though maybe I’ve just missed it. Ha! I do think I would have recalled this sign.…

Sun sets with a bounce

Keep the young ones busy. The energy was high over our shoulders at the bounce house as the kids played during this year’s annual Food Truck Battle. I noticed the sun setting, too.

Mingling and music

Fun out there. The table we commandeered for our fun evening for this year’s visit to the annual Food Truck Battle offered a nice view of the grassy inner court at the New York State Fairgrounds/ The music reached us nicely from the Chevy Court Stage, and I was happy.

The food stroll

Lookie here. Dinner awaited after my dear wife Karen, terrific daughter Elisabeth, George Three and I met with Meghan, Becca and Sean for this year’s Food Truck Battle visit. First, we circled the rectangle of food stops. I picked a cheesesteak sub and Karen went for a Reuben egg roll, both from the Lucky Seven…

Picking the right day

There it lies. Busy we’ve been lately, so the family adventurers had to select a Friday night instead of our usual Saturday afternoon for our traditional annual visit to the May food truck rally at the New York State Fairgrounds. It was a good choice. Before we know it … All the trucks were loaded…

Love the night game

Here’s the pitch … There’s a different feel to the ballpark when the sun goes down. A night game in May always makes me happy to be out there. Not too hot. Not too cold. Ready for the pitch …

A double … rainbow

Yes, up there. The rain held up during our visit to our nearby NBT Bank Stadium to enjoy a night with the Syracuse Mets. Yet up there in the sky we did spy a beautiful double rainbow. That’s way more unlikely than a two-base hit, right?!
