Cute koalas brighten zoo visit

Down under to down the block. Terrific daughter Elisabeth and her friend Megan were greeted by cuddly new residents when they attended a recent edition of Brew at the Zoo. Koalas Kumiri and Kolet now make the Rosamond Gifford Zoo home. I think visitors of all ages will admire the species that come from Australia.

Wet weekend at the races

Indoor weather. Georges Two and Three recently took off a couple of hours south and west for their annual weekend visit to upstate New York’s wonderful motor sports racetrack, Watkins Glen. It rained. A lot, George Two reported to me via text. Soggy. My dear wife Karen and I both thought the guy above was…

Great lily contrast

Another beauty. The second color of day lilies blooming for my terrific daughter Elisabeth and George Three over at their place is a wonderful contrast to the original yellow/orange, she and I believe. Cheers to the contrasts of nature.

Browsing at Ballantyne Gardens

Maybe next season … My dear wife Karen and I happily visited our Liverpool neighbors at Ballantyne Gardens for this year’s crop of annuals. We quickly spotted some Gerbera Daisies and more, but of course wandered here and there to admire Tim and Lisa Ballantyne’s wonderful 2023 collection. Will look good in the ground. Terrific…

Clean away, pool robot

Yes, underwater Roomba. Move over, easy-does-it house vacuum. Our pool now can be cleaned by a new, handy-dandy automated brush-and-remove climber. My dear wife Karen’s co-workers gave their’s a hearty endorsement. An extension of technology. We carefully went over the manual, then down it went. Plenty of room to wander. This initial voyage gave it…

The Stingray remains sharp

Pretty lovely. My eyes and iPhone were drawn to this orange Corvette. The other-shade-of-orange vehicle behind it for this year’s Syracuse Nationals car show set the frame up pretty darn good, I thought.

Now that’s a vivid green

What might this one be? I know what I like, even if I don’t know what I like. You know? While admiring the classic cars collected in the official lot for this year’s edition of the Syracuse Nationals car show, this so-green baby jumped out at me. Part car, part truck, kind of old, sort…

Ready for a parade of cars

Slow procession. Car-watchers have claimed good spots just outside the main official Syracuse Nationals car show lot off Solar Street. It’s normal around these parts for spectators to line area streets to watch the classic cars drive after New York State Fairgrounds goings-on during the three days of the event. This appears to be a…

Classic cars look cool in the new location

The big mall looms. The Syracuse Nationals car show is set up for its new wrinkles. Central New York’s long-running summer event was purchased by Galaxy Communications between after last year’s edition, and the official hotel on Electronics Parkway closed, too. Registration and car-parking long reserved for that stretch of Liverpool is now entrenched across…

Waiting for the cars and the crowds

Seeing the ups and downs. The Syracuse Nationals car show weekend is knocking at our door. Since I scooted over to the nearby hotel parking lot to capture and share photos of parked classic cars last summer, that joint closed its doors. The official hotel for the big car show will now be the Embassy…
