Something about a flag waving in the wind caught my eye as I walked with Ellie B aka Dogamous Pyle in the blocks around A Bitty Better in the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville.
It was an American flag, I thought. But something was a bit … off.
We were going too fast, and the wind was blowing pretty hard. So I didn’t know if was an extra stripe. But I did know the colors where different.
Upon further research, the Internet says black and blue stripes signify support for the police.
I never knew.
I didn’t know that either, Mark. Around here, we’ve seen some American flags that seem to be in black and white instead of red, white and blue. I don’t know what those mean, either. Are they meant to be a symbol of racial equality, or just someone doing a flag in monochrome? I have no idea.
