Modern!
First-time travelers on the Amtrak Empire Express to Penn Station, we scurried off and out to find our connection with the Long Island Rail Road to continue onward to our ultimate destination.
We climbed steps to the Patrick Moynihan Train Hall.

Everything you need.
It’s a fantastic place to find your train … and lots more.
My dear wife Karen found a Walgreens to buy a needed hair tie.
And on our return trip, we had time to sit a spell in a lovely food court and enjoy a tasty dinner in style. Ramen for Karen, George Three and I, and a tasty sandwich for Elisabeth. By then I neglected to take a food photo.

That is awesome! We took the Amtrak from Eugene, Oregon to Vancouver Canada a couple years ago. It was a great way to see the countries!

The train has its own charms for sure, Nance. That sounds so cool.

can you imagine what this place might have looked like in the hey day of rail travel? I wonder this when I see your photo and I walk through Union Station in Chicago. I have seen the stations in St. Louis and Kansas City, but only from the outside. Also been to Houston’s train station, but it’s the left field entrance to the Astros’s Daiken Park, formerly Enron, then Minutemaid. Great trip!

I hear that rail travel thrives a lot more in Europe, Clay. They have something, I think.

We are using it to go to Wales’s and return. Then from Paris from London, and to finish from Paris to Amsterdam. We are also renting a car to make a couple of trips to the country while we are there. I am excited and nervous, especially when my wife asked this morning, “you know you’ll be driving on the other side of the road in Wales?” To which I replied, “yep, the thought terrifies me!”
