OK, now on the field

And, they’re off.

As we head into game day for the Syracuse Orange against Albany today in the Carrier Dome, I’ll finish up the recap from last week’s home opener experience for my dear wife Karen and I.

What matters most, still to me, is the results on the field.

Syracuse looked much better than last season’s one-win-only version.

Hand it to him.

Starting quarterback Tommy DeVito had promising spurts. Garrett Schrader knew what he was doing, a transfer with talent, when he took over for the second quarter.

Yet.

The score with Big Ten’s Rutgers was 0-0 at halftime. And Rutgers, trying to make a name for itself under returning from the NFL coach Greg Schiano, won 17-7.

OK, Syracuse, look good today and go to 2-1 …

  1. I have no complaints about the post. But I did have to zoom in to see who had/has the ball. I remember cheering at high school games. “First and ten, let’s do it again.” Had no idea/still don’t – what it meant.
