This new way has brought a terrible phrase to the forefront of our lives.
We Would Have Been.
You know what I’m talking about, folks.
We wake up. We go about the things we can do around the house, the routines of our now restricted lives. And we think about what would have been on this particular point of time if not for.
Today for my dear wife Karen, terrific daughter Elisabeth and sensational George Three, it would have been Opening Day for the Syracuse Mets.
So instead my new hat and the already-purchased tickets sit on my dresser. We all await word of when life will get back to us, including baseball, please, and this phrase stops making us cringe.
So sorry about opening day. Hopefully it’s just a delay. I’m not sure though. The uncertainty is painful but I trust the experts. Don’t stop believing, Mark! 🤘🏽

It may turn out to be no season for minor leagues, Sandra. We shall see when they decide something.

I think the majors will get back to us somehow, Nance. My local Triple-A squad, I am more fearful of its fate for the season.

I’m hoping we will have an opening day in the coming months, Beth. Or 2021, here we come.
