My dear wife Karen and I were so over the light-and-fan unit that was left on our kitchen ceiling.
To us, it was way more form than function. In particular, it did not allow us to shed enough light on any particular situation because of the strange bulbs it employed.
We took a trip to the big box store’s lighting department and found one we both appreciated.
Our friend Bert did his thing with his expertise and tools.
We are happy. It gives good light.
I have to envy yours 😉
I have two big rectangles in my kitchen and only one works.

Good choice, Mark. When we moved into our new house, we had to replace every overhead light in the place because not only were they originals circa 1940, they all carried 40-watt bulbs! So depressing, and so much better now that we can actually see.
