Walking through the blocks surrounding A Bitty Better in the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville with Ellie B and my dear wife Karen, I spotted a lawn decked out for Halloween with just the right amount of flourish for me.
A wispy little ghost with a pumpkin-head caught a breeze from the center tree while seasonal flowers of the proper color accented the lawn and steps.
Scary, no. Soothing, yes. Thumbs up from me.
i really like the seasonal pops of color –

Seems a completely reasonable level of effort! We have one pumpkin which I threaten to carve but, fortunately, have been able to sit back until the urge goes away.

I don’t decorate for holidays any more, but I do prefer the understated, tasteful look. Just enough to highlight the holiday, without making everyone think, “OMG, what were they thinking?!”

The only holiday we still extend ourselves for is Christmas time, CM, with simple the center tree in front getting light strands.
