The big boss was smiling, with a well-loved red book in her hand.
The director of the library had spied it in our lobby used book sale and bought it for me.
The precious edition came out in 1965, when the New York Mets were 3 years old and I was 8.
I loved them then. I still do.
It’s great to relive what they were like back then. And how I hung on every game, read every newspaper story, lived and breathed the game of baseball.
Thank you, Glenna, for this wonderful gift from our used book sale.
Spring training starts today, New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves.
Hope springs eternal!
Let’s Go Mets.
what an amazing find! how nice of her to think of you and understand how much it would mean to you –
