My dear wife Karen embraces her Central Service Processing class at BOCES with much enthusiasm.
In a few months, she’ll be starting a new career, making sure surgical equipment is thoroughly cleaned for surgeons.
Last week, the teacher took the class on a field trip to three on the local hospitals. She wants the students to get a great view of job duties and responsibilities right now.
Karen texted me the photo above. Yes, they had to wear their student scrubs, a special color that separates them from the staff workers. And they had to be sterilized for the special parts of the hospital.
That night at home, she filled me in about the ins and outs of the trip.
She’s ready to take on her internship in a month or so.
I think she’s going to be awesome in this career.
Oh, that’s Karen? At one glance, she looks like a surgeon, Mark! LOL! All the best to Karen in her new job.

She can be a cut-up, Patricia, but not in that way. Thanks for the kind words. 🙂

That is an important job because of the health and safety aspects. If surgical instruments are not clean then people can get sicker or die. Best of luck to her.
