What do the farmers bring to the Hawaiian markets?

Our natural curiosity brought us to the Kona Farmers Market PDQ.

Two of them, in fact.

Hot it was.

The whole family reunion spilled into the collection of white tents in the middle of busy Ali’i Drive the first full day of our dream vacation.

We sweltered in the morning sun.

Aisles of asphalt.

The whole dang thing was set up on a parking lot.

Fruit, yes.

We indeed ran into several racks of fresh fruit. My great daughter Elisabeth purchased a pineapple. It was delightful when her wonderful significant George Three sliced it up for us back at our Kona by the Sea suite.

Good bunch.

George decided upon a bunch of apple bananas. We’d never heard of those back here in Central New York. They were slightly smaller than our usual store-bought, and when we peeled them back at the Kona By the Sea suite, tasted slightly sweeter.

Pulled in by the sea turtles.

Wandering off on my own, I bought a sea turtle magnet for my dear wife Karen, to add to our refrigerator collection back home at A Bitty Better in the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville. She approved.

The second Farmers Market was just about directly across the road from Kona By the Sea.

Easier on the eyes and feet.

It had a more country feel.

Art!

My purchases here were a pretty photograph of a sunset at a location we weren’t going to visit and a refrigerator magnet of a artist’s painting of the Kona harbor scene.

Our seats in the center court to savor some shave(d) ice and iced tea was quite pleasant, too.

Tomorrow: Playing with a sea turtle
