The nice woman who owns the dog place in Dennis Port had told us about the dog-friendliness of West Dennis Beach before the crowds get there years ago.
This year we decided to take Ellie B aka Dogamous Pyle the couple of miles down the road from Dennis Port to experience the surf of the Atlantic Ocean.
My dear wife Karen and I loaded our cherished rescue mutt into the Mazda sometime after 4:30 a.m. I had noted how the sun comes up earlier in Cape Cod than it does at A Bitty Better in the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville.
There was attendant at the gate. We drove into the expansive parking lot.
My, how we three were rewarded.
The beauty of this beach took our breath away.
As wife and dog frolicked in the surf, I clicked away on my iPhone 6. I even remembered to turn in the other direction and got an eyeful.
I kept telling Ellie B what a good dog she was, too.
She made Karen jog.
And she made the most of the moment.
We have a beach dog, for sure.
Tomorrow: Pancakes and shrimp
Life is so peaceful and beautiful at the beach, Mark! 😻🐾☀️

I lived in S. Dennis decades ago. The Bay beaches always were a great place for dogs to roll in something washed up on the beach!

The Bay beaches look pretty from Sesuit Harbor Cafe, yes, notdonner. But I don’t want my dog rolling in anything that washed up on the beach!
