Here are the three plants my dear wife Karen decided we’d take home from the Regional Market to help complete the first-growing-season stocking of our gardens of A Bitty Better in the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville.
One is a perennial, the other two annuals.
I’m a stay-with-us guy. Karen says we can always get more next spring.
Are you more of a fan of perennial or annual plants, and why?
I like a mix of both! Perennials don’t seem to have flowers as long (most of them except the Dianthus I have) so I like to buy some annuals for instant, long color. Especially Calibrachoa and Petunias.

Smart thinking, Kathryn Grace. That’s along the lines of my dear wife Karen. 🙂

I like them both Mark. Living in an apartment, I miss planting stuff. Can’t even plant on the balcony, sun is too strong and burns any plants. ❤

I’m sorry to hear about your plant-less present, Diana. 😦 Are there any community garden spots nearby in Calgary?

Yes but I’m not one to travel somewhere else to garden. I miss walking outside in my jammies with coffee in hand and pulling the odd weed while waking up.

very pretty choices to fill the gaps. i have over time grown and cultivated (tried not to kill) my perennials and fill in with annuals each year. after a number of years in the cottage, it’s finally coming together )
