The rain stopped enough last weekend for my dear wife Karen and I to fulfill our promise to Ellie B aka Dogamous Pyle to put on the leash and take our first loop around the block since moving into the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville.
I’ve noticed on my drives that one of the nearby streets has a name close to my heart. I spent the first five years of my life living in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn. That Polish community shaped my life, with both sets of grandparents living on either end, and my father driving back west from Long Island to visit until I got my license and took my turn.
That’s A Bitty Better poking through the house on the corner of our street. My heart races at its sighting. That’s a great sign.
That’s our lake view. Of course, one must look from the middle of the street to catch a glimpse of Onondaga Lake way down there. I like it.
We will investigate more blocks this fall. And winter. Spring. Summer.
What word of significance has popped back into your life? Which is your favorite season to walk? What would you like me to take photos of around A Bitty Better?
I had to look on a map to see where Galeville was located. That is so cool that the lake is so close. Maybe you’ll get a better view in winter when the leaves are gone.

I think the winter view of the water will open up, Violet Sky. Pretty soon, in fact. ;-o

I’m loving this little brother. I also love how you are calling it “A Bitty Better”. Autumn is definitely the best time for walking–if only I still could. Someday I WILL walk again, even if I have to wait till the next life to do it, but I’m not in a big hurry to get to that one. I walk around my apartment, with only a few incidents that make me wonder if it’s a good idea or one of my less than brilliant ones. Love your neighborhood! Okay, I’m heading back a day.

Don’t rush the big walk on the other side, sis Angie. One day we’ll be walking together up there. ❤

I’m not rushing that big walk, little brother, but I’m not going to try to stop it when the time comes either. I’ve also sworn to come back and haunt anyone who tries to prevent my going when God says it’s time.

No allotments around here, though, Rachel. 🙂 I want to see want Karen does with the new yard!

I want that white house in the last picture. It looks like there’s no immediate neighbors, but it’s still in a nice suburban area. Let me know if a For Sale sign goes up in front of it.

I will let you know, CM. It would be great to have you as a neighbor. Cody and Ellie would become cousins. 😉

Ha, ha. It would be a bit of a daily commute, although I suppose there might be a job available for me in Syracuse.
