The latest label in our tour

While shopping for other things as our Cape Cod pre-tourist-rush June week in the Happy Cottage wound down, my dear wife Karen and I had to pull down one more newbie to sit next to the Dark Horse Cab Sav that I brought from home.

A growler size.

So we threw it in with the bag of Blue Buffalo and proceeded to the Agway checkout counter.

Ellie B aka Dogamous Pyle of course wanted to check out the latest label.

These doggie toy makers are coming up with some wild idea to hook we owners, aren’t they?

What’s the oddest or most unique pet toy you’ve ever seen or purchased? Would your pet go for the gusto? Red, white or poly?

  1. If it made noise perhaps Ellie B. would like the toy. We used to mainly choose those twisted rope pulls or flip chips to keep Toby busy while company were over. I just wanted to use my phone to text a response to your 2 most recent posts. Take care and I enjoyed hearing about your vacation!

  2. Adorable! Nothing plushy or squeaky lives long with Sadie. She loves her Kong tennis balls. There’s one Kong bone thing she likes, too. Big Blue. Big Blue is buried in the backyard somewhere and she digs it up when she wants to. I’ve also noticed she’ll play with the tiny cat toys if the kitten plays with them in her spot. She’ll throw them up and she and the kitten will race to them and play bow. It’s quite cute.
I can’t think of any really expensive pet toys…except to say the cute and fluffy $12 ones last for about 10 minutes, which makes them expensive 😉

  3. Oh how I love those soulful eyes, kind of looking at you like, “really? you expect me to play with this?” One of our dogs had no need for toys, just tennis balls. The other could be heard for miles constantly squeaking the life out of a plush duck- it was like a pacifier for him. He would carry it with him wherever he went. Quite a sight 😉

  4. My Golden Retriever loves bottle caps and rocks. Those are his favorite toys. If I buy him stuffed toys, he simply disembowels them, leaving the stuffing strewn around the house. My Great Dane (from Russian descent) loves Vodka ice cubes. My husband has to be very careful about leaving his cocktail unattended.

  5. Whew, haven’t had a dog for 50 years Mark. I did haul for a large chain of pet stores for a while and couldn’t figure out what half the stuff was – ha!
