Love in Ten Lines — Challenge

All you need is …

Well, all I need is to write a 10-line poem about love, thanks to my friend Belinda, the marvelous mind behind the always interesting blog Idiot Writing.

Belinda tagged me in the Love in Ten Lines Challenge. Poetry!

Here are the rules.

•Write about love using only 10 lines.

•Use the word love in every line.

•Each line can only be four words long.

•Nominate others who are up for the challenge.

•Let them know about the challenge.

•Title the post: Love in Ten Lines

•Include a quote about love (this can be your own).

•You may write in any language.

I say they love

to pity past love.

Oh, lost love,

  2. I’ve only read your poem today. And strangely enough, I quoted Neil Diamond’s “Hello Again” as my 3rd Quote Lovers challenge, but my first choice was actually “Yesterday’s gone, Now all I want is a smile”. But I preferred the more romantic youtube of Hello Again, so I changed the quote!

  9. Mark, your poem is love-ly….LOVEly! And (putting brave face on) I gladly accept your challenge. Check it out, within 15 minutes of reading your invite on my phone this morning, I had sketched my “poem” out 😀 For now I need to get back to baseball, Easter, and baseball (in that order) and hope to put my poooooeeeem live on Tuesday.

    This is absolutely a beautifully created ode and tribute to your precious (and gorgeous!) wife. Stunning. (I hope you have shown her!)
    I am awed to be fair with your poem. It is so filled with truth and well REAL LOVE. Lol.
    As for Mr Neil Diamond – you WILL believe… another musician I had as the soundtrack to my childhood – We really need to stop this now. TOO funny! I can just see my dad sitting in a darkened room in his chair with the album playing. (I forget the name of the album but I know it was a gift from my mother)
    So- a touching post for me. – Thank you good Sir.

    • Thank you so much, dear Belinda, for your so precious and kind words here. I just sat with my dear wife Karen next to me and had her read my poem, and she loved it very much. I would never had taken the time or even have thought about writing such an ode of you had not tagged me in this WordPress world of ours. The ties that bind are wondrous, indeed. I’m happy that you can imagine your dad grooving to Neil Diamond’s songs, a gift from your mom. Good times, that, for them then and you now. Have a great day over that side, my friend. I’ll think of that story at the concert tonight.
